I’ve been going back and forth with my local garage and the dealer about my Mini Cooper and I’m getting totally different answers. Dealer says every 30k km, the independent guy says I can push to 50k if I drive gently. I mostly do city driving with occasional highway runs to Abu Dhabi. The sensor hasn’t come on yet but I’m at 45k and starting to hear a faint squeak when braking lightly. I just wanted to Find out more about MINI Cooper brake pad maintenance before I spend money I might not need to spend. Some people say Minis eat through pads faster because of the way they brake, others say it depends on driving style. I’m in Dubai and the heat probably doesn’t help either. Has anyone here actually measured their pad thickness at different intervals? Or found a reliable guide that isn’t just trying to sell you something? I’m not trying to be cheap, I just don’t want to replace perfectly good pads or ignore ones that are about to die. Any real experience would help.
