    When I was working on my dissertation, I became obsessed with comparing my progress with everyone else. One question I kept searching was: how long should a literature review be in a 10000 word dissertation. Every sample I found online looked different, which somehow made me even more confused.

    After a while, I realized I was focusing on the wrong thing. The literature review wasn’t supposed to be about filling pages — it was supposed to explain previous research and connect it to my own study. Once I stopped treating word count like a competition, the process felt much more natural and less stressful.
