PPF or ceramic coating for a daily driver in Abu Dhabi – what’s actually better?
So I’m picking up my new car next month and I’ve been going back and forth on the whole paint protection thing for weeks now. I live in Khalifa City and I commute to the city center every day, so my car is going to see a lot of highway miles and parking lot exposure. I’ve been reading about both PPF and ceramic coatings and honestly I’m still confused about which one is right for me. I understand that PPF is a physical film that actually protects against stone chips and scratches, while ceramic coating is more of a chemical layer that provides gloss and hydrophobicity but doesn’t really offer impact protection. But the price difference is huge, like a full PPF job is easily three or four times the cost of a ceramic coating, and I’m trying to figure out if the extra protection is actually worth it for a daily driver that’s inevitably going to get some wear and tear anyway. I’ve heard some people say that ceramic coating is enough if you’re careful with your car, while others say you’re crazy not to get PPF in a place with so much sand and gravel on the roads. I’ve been looking for Trusted advice on PPF versus ceramic coating for Khalifa City residents because I figure people in my area would have relevant experience with the same road conditions. Has anyone here gone with ceramic coating only and regretted it after getting stone chips? Or has anyone gone with PPF and felt like it was overkill for a daily driver? I really need some practical advice here because I’m spending a lot of money on this car and I want to protect it, but I also don’t want to waste money on something that’s more than I actually need.
